Women’s health advocate, Fashion designer, celebrity stylist, costume designer, TV and podcast host, producer, and mother of five, Mary Alice Haney is a multi-hyphenate who has been responsible for some of the most iconic media moments in Hollywood over the last twenty years.
Growing up in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Mary Alice was always a visual artist who, at an early age, discovered her two greatest passions: fashion and film. While attending Parsons School of Design in Paris, she worked for Haper's Bazaar, then earned an MFA in film studies from the American Film Institute, where she studied costume/production design. Mary Alice then became the West Coast editor for GQ, ALLURE, Marie Claire and Domino Magazine. Her experience laid the ground work for what would soon become a groundbreaking career in both the fashion and entertainment industries. Utilizing her considerable influence, she has emerged as a passionate champion for women's health and is set to host a Women's Health podcast for Dear Media in 2024.
In 2013 after years as a celebrity stylist and fashion editor, Mary Alice launched HANEY, a luxury ready-to-wear label, based in downtown Los Angeles, with a clear mission: to bring Hollywood sensibility to every woman. Mary Alice's signature style is a sophisticated sexiness that exudes luxury and confidence and enhances and flatters the figure with impeccable tailoring, luxurious fabrics and luxe embellishments. She has designed dresses that are red carpet - glamorous but still easy and relaxed. Celebrity clientele include Reese Witherspoon, Emily Ratajkowski, Chrissy Teigen, Kate Hudson, Gal Gadot, Scarlett Johannson, Heidi Klum, Jessica Biel, Suki Waterhouse, Karolina Kurkova, Jane Fonda, and Taylor Swift.
Launched by Net-A-Porter, the collection was available at select retailers including Net-A-Porter, Intermix, Shopbop, Neiman Marcus, Saks, FWRD by Elyse Walker, Browns, Nordstrom and online at Shophaney.com. She has worked on collaborations with Escada, Le Catch and Amazon. Most, recently, Mary Alice has moved into producing and costume designing for film and TV.
Inspired to make a difference with her voice, Mary Alice embarked on a journey to deepen her understanding of Women's Health issues. Following a guest hosting appearance on "Lipstick on the Rim" alongside Molly Sims, Mary Alice joined forces with celebrity OBGYN, Dr. Thais Aliabadi, to establish a groundbreaking women's health podcast and platform slated for launch in 2024.
